Physician of Body and Soul: Simon Gabriel Bruté

Of the many accomplishments in the life of Simon Bruté, one of the most remarkable was his deep and abiding friendship with Elizabeth Ann Seton. He was her spiritual guide, friend, and confidant for much of her adult life.

He was instrumental in the spiritual formation of the Sisters of Charity in Emmitsburg. The relationship between Simon Gabriel Bruté and Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton is the major focus of Dr. White’s lecture.
